What other options do I have besides taking cooking classes in NYC?

Courses to Cure the Culinary Crazies

Some people are hooked on jazz music, others can't get enough horror movies, and some people are absolute cookbook-aholics. These people have more cookbooks than food in their kitchens. Instead of art adorning their walls, they've cut out food photos from their favorite cooking magazines and framed them.

Of course, you don't have to be obsessive to enjoy all things related to culinary delights. Maybe you watch cooking shows on television, or maybe you've signed up for The Good Book (which is the culinary equivalent of the Book of the Month Club). Now, if you find yourself watching the British children's television series Big Cook Little Cook, it might be time to reconsider your obsessive compulsive tendencies (especially if you have no children).

Maybe it's time to think about taking cooking classes. Not everyone has the means to take cooking classes in New York City, but that doesn't mean you can't sign up for a part-time evening class at a local university or college. For some people (like the obsessive types) it's all or nothing, but it doesn't have to be that way. If you have a love of cooking and want to experiment with that, don't underestimate the power of a part-time cooking course. Instead of letting your creative energy dissolve in front of the television set, put your passion to good use and take a course.
