What should I pack for a summer picnic?

The Summer Picnic

Summer is the best season for all kinds of reasons: swimming, camping, bonfires, gardening, and picnics. Picnics are especially nice because they get you outside in a more relaxed way than you'd typically find yourself. The thing to keep in mind is that picnics don't have to be complicated. They can be enjoyed by anyone. When the kids want to have a picnic, let them choose what they want in the picnic basket and send them outside with an old blanket that they can spread on the ground. If you're going on a picnic with the girls, on a date, or with the family, consider these food options:

· Italian bread

· Italian cookies for dessert

· cheese

· fresh fruit

· juice or wine

· a thermos of coffee or tea

· sandwiches

· potato chips

· freshly chopped vegetables with dip

Most picnic baskets come with tableware, but if yours doesn't, remember to bring some plates, cups, and utensils. It's a good idea to pack some bug spray in a separate bag, some wet wipes, and suntan lotion as well.
