There are many newspapers, magazines and other publications that hire critics to report on the newest restaurants, bakeries and chefs. Check with your local newspapers and magazines and build a portfolio, then promote yourself to the larger national publications. You should focus on making contacts and keeping in touch. Learn the names of the editors at magazines, newspapers, and trade publications. Research food related websites, blogs and other publications for information on trends in the industry.
