Show Your Cookbooks Who's the Boss

It’s frustrating to spend money on fancy cookbooks only to discover the recipes never turn out the way they look in the photographs. It’s important to remember that savvy marketing gurus splash claims like “Easy fine cuisine in minutes!” to the book jacket for a reason. They want to sell cookbooks! Sure they’re easy recipes, if you know what you’re doing. There’s always a trick or technique involved in a cookbook that you can’t find anywhere in the actual recipe. Don’t throw away your fancy cookbooks. Instead, put them on prominent display because as soon as you complete an amateur cooking class, you’ll be ready to crack them open once again. By taking amateur cooking classes at schools like the French Culinary Institute in New York City, you’ll learn those hidden techniques and tricks of the trade. By the time you get home you’ll be ready to tackle even the most advanced recipe in that French, Italian, or Spanish cookbook. By the way, congratulations for making the effort to create your own French culinary cuisine. Homemade meals taste better and are far better for you than fast food take-out. Meals have become a rushed affair. Cooking your own meals helps slow the process down, makes you appreciate the meal so much more, and gives you the opportunity to share with family and friends.
